Position Type: Temporary 6-month contract
The Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounts payable and receivable functions of the company, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting, along with at least 2 years of experience in building and property management accounting.
Responsibilities:
-Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, coding expenses to
appropriate accounts, obtaining approvals, and preparing payments.
-Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing issues in a timely
manner.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including vendor files, invoices, and payment documentation.
-Prepare and distribute monthly accounts payable reports and aging analysis to
management for review.
-Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing customers, posting payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
-Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure smooth payment and collection processes.
-Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to accounts payable and receivable functions.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable roles, preferably in property management accounting.
-Proficiency in accounting software such as Entrata, Yardi and QuickBooks
-Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
-Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
-Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
environment.
-Knowledge of Canadian laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to accounts payable and receivable functions.
This role requires both office work and on-site visits. Flexibility to adapt to different work environments is essential.
